DOMAINE LAURENT

Domaine Laurent Pere et Fils, established in 2006, has a rich history rooted in the acquisition of Haegelan-Jayer vines in Vosne Romanee. Today, it is led by Jean Laurent, whose father is the esteemed Negociant Dominique Laurent. With a total of 12 hectares of vineyards, including 4 hectares in Cotes de Beaune, the Domaine boasts an impressive portfolio.

One of the distinctive aspects of the Domaine is its winemaking approach. Wines are carefully vinified, incorporating varying proportions of whole clusters ranging from 30% to 70%. This technique imparts unique characteristics to the wines, distinguishing them from the Maison's offerings. In the Burgundy region, it is rare to have both a Maison and a Domaine coexist, especially with such contrasting styles. However, this contrast works harmoniously, allowing the wines to complement each other.

The Domaine emphasizes a restrained use of oak, resulting in wines with a lighter touch of oak influence. Additionally, a higher proportion of whole clusters is utilized, further enhancing the wine's complexity and structure. While the vineyards are not officially certified, the Domaine adheres to organic farming principles, showcasing a commitment to sustainable practices.

Notably, the Domaine possesses an outstanding portfolio of premier cru vineyards in Nuits Saint Georges and Pommard, as well as prestigious Grand Cru sites such as Echezeaux and Clos Vougeot. These exceptional terroirs contribute to the production of wines ofremarkable quality and distinction.
