SYLVAIN LANGOUREAU

Husband and wife Sylvain and Nathalie Langoureau are the fifth-generation vignerons of this estate who took over in 1989. Their esteemed Domaine spans approximately 10 hectares, primarily dedicated to white wine production. Chardonnay and Aligote dominate the vineyards, comprising an impressive 85% of the plantings, while the remaining vines showcase the noble Pinot Noir varietal.

Within the Langoureau estate, their meticulously maintained parcels encompass the prestigious appellations of Saint Aubin, Chassagne Montrachet, Meursault, and Puligny Montrachet. Particularly noteworthy are the numerous Premier Cru parcels in Saint Aubin, along with a Premier Cru parcel in Meursault and two Premier Cru parcels in Puligny Montrachet—namely La Garenne and Les Chalumaux.

At the heart of their winemaking philosophy lies a gentle approach. Employing less than 30% new oak across all their cuvées and refraining from stirring the lees during elevage, Sylvain and Nathalie craft pure and refreshingly vibrant wines. A distinctive house style emerges, characterized by captivating notes of green apple and white flowers that permeate their cuvées and appellations.

The Langoureau legacy continues to flourish as the next generation receives comprehensive training in the art of winemaking, as the eldest daughter Camille is currently working as an intern for winemaking in New Zealand. Recognized as one of the top sites in Saint Aubin, their wines have garnered increasing acclaim from discerning critics worldwide, solidifying their reputation as masters of their craft.
